can anyone please advise on why a Sapphire Radeon Nitro+ RX 580 won't boot with open core to install or use either monterey or ventura? its not flashed bought it a few years ago its a blue one says nitro sapphire on it i thought i was ok with that rx580 being supported ?

i tried swapping it once for a very old radeon card and that worked but opencore would not recognize it said it had 6mb ram i just tried ventura and that shows the apple screen then just goes dark fan stops

the first try i did generate the usb install disk with the card in the mac pro 5,1 after updating to latest firmware

i'm trying to upgrade the os in 5,1 was the goal to get latest security updates minimum video was awesome non open core system and i've upgraded a few 3,1 macs with oder video cards so am familiar with some of the open core legacy process prior i used dosdudes software

any advice would be greatly appreciated

i just tried creating an opencore installer on my 5,1 for a mac pro 3,1 and currently looks like i'm installing monterey with this sapphire video card ! not sure why its working but maybe generating the installer and efi from another machine gave it the right video ...anyway i confirmed monterey recognizes it 8 GB Ram

i've got a rx 580 armor that needs flashed, and i'm having a hard time understanding all the posts i've read. did you get yours going?
