I'm a screen protector person. Every Apple device I've ever had gets a Best Skins Ever slapped on it as soon as it arrives.

I recently got the SS Apple Watch but have some questions. I've read that the aluminum ones may scratch more but the sapphire on the SS models is much more resistant. Therefore is it worth putting a screen protector on? I figure if you're going to hit the watch so hard as to scratch the sapphire it's probably going to crack, which is worse.

I ordered the BSE for the watch anyways, $7.99 for 3, so not a huge deal.

Any thoughts on this?

I previously owned the Apple Watch Sport and the Ion-X Glass scratches relatively easily, from my experience. I then upgraded to the stainless with the sapphire display. Sapphire is the second hardest material to diamond. And I have zero scratches on my screen. If you put a screen protector on the sapphire display, it's understandable. But I don't think it's necessary. The sapphire display is worth the price tag alone for the stainless model.

I don't feel it's necessary on either model but I'm not slamming my arm In to walls or anything.

I'm a screen protector person too, and I didn't have one on my Gen 1 SS watch, and I don't have one on my Series 2 SS. I would probably put one on if I owned the aluminium watch, but I was never going to own the aluminium watch, so it's a moot point.

IDK lol. I have never been a screen protector person and so far my 4th iPhone 6 Plus screen is scratch free LMAO. My first three had micro scratches. On phones I have come to the conclusion I just don't care enough to deal with screen protectors and taking them on and off because of dust and etc. Bought the SS for the peace of mind that Sapphire is more resistant.

The sapphire Display is difficult to scratch. I don't believe it's necessary with one.

I'll just give you my experience and it should answer your question. When i had a sport I scratched it on this certain place on my granite counter top twice. I also scuffed it simply reaching in my mailbox as i grazed the top side of it reaching in. I have hit all these spots and more that I was 100% sure I was going to look down to a scratch on my S2 Black SS with link and hate myself until I got apple to send me a new one under AC+. To my surprise I haven't even the slightest scratch on the screen or body. I am 100% sure that it would have beat the sport to crap but the SS holds up amazingly and I have now started wearing my SS for every activity instead of putting my old sport on for the rough stuff like long boarding or hiking or whatever.

On my series 0 Stainless Steel i never had a scratch in 18 months. on my series 2 stainless steel, there were scratches after 2 months. Before anyone says its just the oleophobic coating, It might be, but its still on the screen, and cant be removed.
