Today I fitted a Sapphire Vega 64 Nitro Plus in my mac pro 5.1 as standard it will not fit as its 310mm long but does have a superb cooler. To fit it you need to remove the slots in the PCIE cooling fan that used to hold the older Mac cards. make the holes for the locking mech on the fan underside longer and set in a self tapping screw so when you close the fan cover it still locks in the card.

Fitted it looks like this.

So far very pleased with the Vega 64 Nitro Plus, its not noisy at all and performs well.

Pixlas mod, well nearly, i take the power plug for logic board apart and solder the wires to them. then plug it back in and permanent connection. its runs really well and a bit of a bargin at £325 these days for GPU's

Did you follow a guide for that? And your using the standard Apple power supply?

Yes i am using the standard apple power supply, its 980 watts so plenty of power for it. if you search Pixlas mod there are many guides on the internet.
