can we use simple saran wrap to protect the back, at least until good cases come out?

umm.. i guess food wrap will work. but if you're willing to do that you might as well tie pillows around it too. just in case, you know.

When I'm not using my iPod I vacuum seal it in archival quality plastic and lock it in a silk padded 18/10 stainless steel box that rests on a condor down pillow.

What kind of iPod wax do you guys use?

WAX!?!?! You should be using 5 Star Shine (from NASA). Only $1500! I'm keeping my iPod shiny forever!!! HAHAHAHAHA!

Because then if someone shot at you it might get hit in the crossfire. I'm getting mine installed in my brain next week. :p

what a coincidence! im doing an operation for one of those in a week!

on a more serious note, I dont see the back getting scratched at all (although fingerprinted like nuts from up close)

i thought the back was really prone to scratching, or is it?

finger prints are fine with me but i don't want my expensive gadget to get scratched :D

And while you're at it, why not chain it to your neck ?!

I used to do this too, but found it was still too exposed and comes into too much contact with air. I've been experimenting with various bodily orifaces instead.

pfft you guys are all way off. I keep mine unopened and in the box. Aint nothing scratching that baby... although I have had problems syncing it...

Anybody used a food wrapping sheet to protect the IPT from scratch?

When I was sitting on the train, I saw a guy showing his IPT to his girlfriend. He mentioned to her the scratches at the back. Did not look that pretty. I am going to order the Switcheasy Rebel internationally but before it arrives, I am using a temporarily case from Capdase. Have not heard of review about their products but I found them in many local stores. I wonder if it is a good idea to use a thin food wrapping sheet to wrap around the IPT (at least the back) before putting it in the plastic case. Will the heat cause the sheet to melt on the IPT surface? Thanks.

I have wondered about this myself. The only problem I've run into is how to get the sheet to stay on -- since the sheet won't be cut to fit the iPod, there'd be extra bits that would have to be bunched up somewhere. But theoretically, it should work, and I doubt they'd melt or anything. They can be wrapped around hot food and not melt, so I think they'd be ok with the iPod. I did keep my iPod in a ziplock bag once when I was between cases, and that worked fairly well.
