I can use this SATA 6.0 drive for my Time Machine drive in my early2008 Mac Pro?

I know my MP doesn't have SATA 6.0 busses but does that mean it'll just run at the slower SATA II speeds?
 
Since TimeMachine runs in the background, I'm curious why you care all that much about speed. Are you really making that many changes of such size that it would matter?

Not concerned about speed at all... just want to make sure a SATA III drive will work in an e2008 MP.

Yes, it will work at sata2, but for mechanical drives (non-SSD), it doesn't make much difference: there isn't a single mechanical drive that even fills the sata2 bandwidth.
