Sata II or Sata III SSD

Is there a big difference for a stock 2011 Mini using either a II or III type drive.

I know one is 3 GB and the other 6 GB but I am just wondering if they are worth the money difference, or will I just get great performance from the Intel 320 Model 300GB Sata II SSD?

On a day by day usage basis you probably won't see much difference in performance but theoretical top speed IO yes the difference is significant.

Personally I would be tempted to get a new Mini and upgrade it myself by buying one of the new Samsung 830 SSD's. Stick it in a dual drive configuration and run the OS/apps from the Samsung and keep the builtin drive for other storage.

If the price isn't that much more, get the SATA III. Not sure which SSD your looking at, but I'm only seeing a small premium for the SATA III over the SATA IIs.

The new mini takes full advantage of it. You almost double your read and write speeds. And yes - I noticed the difference going from SATA II to III.

The OWC drives have little price difference between 6G and 3G models.

Honestly, I think of it as "lucky" if you had a machine you want to put a SSD in, that supports 6G! Go ahead and take advantage of that support in your system.

I'm sure you'd still love the computer and performance with the 3G drive, but why not go ahead and take advantage of the 6G feature in your computer? On YouTube, someone runs the Disk Speed Test App Store app with a 6G drive in the new Minis, it's impressive numbers!

Ok, but I was looking at the Intel 320 Model or 510 Model, is there a better drive for 6G.

I will need a drive between 128-256GB, but I prefer reliability over speed boost as I am not doing anything that requires a huge amout of speed, I just do not want to be always tinkering so that is why I prefer Reliability over Speed.

Which is the best one, and assuming I will be getting it from Newegg.com

Intel is very good for reliability. Your only other option would be the Samsung 830 (SATA III) or 470 (SATA II)
