SATA ports in MBP: How likely is that in future revisions?

I'm unhappy that MBPs require an Expresscard to attach SATA drives. It's clunky, the cables are stiff and the card can pop out accidentally, endangering the data (plus I had to wait 6 months until a card became available).
Is there a technical reason why external SATA ports built into a future revision of the MBP are likely or not?
For all those using the MBP for editing external drives are a must, and why use FW800 when there's a vastly superiour transport (esp. for ext. RAID).

Don't think FW is going anywhere, since you can plug a camcorder into the FW port -- and eSATA isn't an industry standard for that.

Maybe in Fall 2008-09? I'm guessing it will happen but the interface has to become a bit more pervasive. The bandwidth alone makes ESATA drool worthy but its the whole chicken and the egg thing. Granted that isn't to say Apple doesn't lead the cutting edge. Look at the Express Card as an example. For now we will have to settle for http://www.firmtek.com/seritek/seritek-2sm2-e/

What's bad about Firewire? It goes up to 800mbps which is more than twice that of SATA II's 300mbps.

Psst. ESATA can do 2400mbps. However I didn't realize that it wasn't bus powered...bummer.
