Sausagegate

The video that they showed on SportsCenter last night didn't look that funny though. The sausage came running past the player,he swings his bat, then the sausage falls down causing the hot dog to fall.
 
I can understand going after a big purple dinosaur with a baseball bat, but to beat the sausage in public. :eek:

But baseball has been going a little overboard lately in attempted prosecution of fans, and players now. :rolleyes:

That deadly weapon charge for the cell phone, shafting Batista for throwing a ball -- when players were let off with shorter punishments for inflicting more damage to other players in later games.
 
Well, before someone takes this the wrong way...I'm laughing at the way this story is portrayed by the article I posted. It's a total parody. No, it doesn't justify any actions, just something humoring.

I don't think that you are insensitive eyelikeart. Humor is needed otherwise it would be a very dull life. You brighten up the forum!

One day I was sitting at the bar in a cafe with a couple of friends all reading the newspaper and one of my friends reads out lot "Man intentionally tries to run down children in playground...." now of course that is in no way funny but the way he said it made everyone crack up on the spot...

His excuses were pretty lame....and they did escort him out in handcuffs....ah, got to love the slow news days - tomorrow 5 puppies will have been hit over the center field fence, knocking the hotdog vender into a coma....blah!

I hope I didn't make you feel that way. I just misread the link since it has been in the news all day. If it weren't for the bat, the story would be way too funny.

not sure you want to use me as your standard. i've got an extremely odd sense of humor. at least according to just about every person i've ever met in my entire life.

i just saw the footage for the first time. it _is_ funny. he basically tapped the "head" w/ a bat. but the head is a huge piece of top-heavy foam; he hit maybe 3 feet above where the person's real head is.

then she slowly sort of collapsed to the ground. it kinda looked like 4 year olds playing w/ a nerf bat.

i say it was worth $432.

As mentioned by our local sportscaster, apology offered and accepted. The young lady involved thought that it was all in fun! So I agree with him its end of story! :p
 
I don't know. If you slow down the frames you can see that at first the sausage's head goes forward, then a second or two later, it goes backwards. Raising the question of a second batter.

Hey it was a sausage, you don't really expect there to be more than one batter beating the sausage in public.

It's not like a big annoying singing purple dinosaur showed up and got ripped to shreds by 10's of thousands of people.
 
The latest update now is she just wants a bat & an autograph from Simon.

She's basically laughing at the whole ordeal, saying she cannot believe how much it got blown out of proportion by the media. :p
