Save As issues in all Office applications on Yosemite

When attempting to save a file with a new name, the area of the screen that shows a visual of the file flickers continually, preventing me from getting the cursor into the title to change it, and then (if I time it just right and can change a letter or number) preventing the save. I have had to cancel and/or force quit to stop it.

Anyone else?

I am thinking about a rollback at this point.

Yep. Did the update. Hmmm... so odd. This is definitely a new problem since Yosemite. It reproduces whether I'm saving to the hard drive or dropbox, so I don't think it's that. It might be time for a trip to the Apple store.

I just checked all my Office apps and the save as is working fine on Yosemite.

2011 MBP.

Thanks for checking, Glen. Maybe it's a separate issue that just happened to crop up simultaneously with the update. I intensely dislike the idea of standing at the Apple store, but... sometimes that's how it goes!

I have issues with MS Office on Yosemite as well..

1. Sometimes when saving, the window extends too far below and I can't see the "cancel" or "save as" at the bottom. (if you have this problem, you know what I am talking about)

2. Converting any word file to PDF will save it as a PDF file with 0 bytes. You have to delete it, then restore that file for the correct bytes to appear.

3. And some other things that aren't coming to mind.

Basically, we need a new update to Yosemite. This is the weakest OS release ever.

Last time I checked Office 2014 is a product made by Microsoft. As such it's mostly their responsibility to fix compatibility issues with a new OS X release. This most likely wouldn't be a problem if Microsoft largely stuck with OS X native APIs instead of hacking their own non-standard interface together. On top of that there have been problems with Microsoft Office and new OS X releases in the past as well.

I wanted to do a clean install. When I downloaded Office 2011 back then I saved the file. When I install that very old version is there a single update to get to the latest version or do I have to go from update to update?

The newest version of Office for Mac is 2011.
This problem is showing up in other programs now, including Photoshop, along with new files, once they are successfully saved, not appearing in Dropbox. Others are reporting it, as well, on the Apple forums.
So, I'm pretty sure it's a Yosemite issue.

I did a clean install of Yosemite and these issues are still ever more apparent.
