it was once easy to do...

but now i can't seem to do it - if i receive a photo via text, and i touch the photo, and then choose "save", it does not appear in my photos

i guess it's being saved somewhere, but i have no idea where...

i just want it to be in my photo appp

I can’t tell you why this is a logical idea but:

Sometimes when you save a photo from an external source, it will save to Photos based on the date it was taken/created. You could have photos from every month this year, but find the photo back in August’s grouping - even though it’s the newest addition to your library.

If you hit Albums and Camera Roll, I’m sure it’ll be the most recent photo in there.

Thanks - that worked.

In my case, it was Albums > All Photos, i think there was once "Camera Roll", but perhaps it got changed in an OS update.

The other thing I want to do is tag the photo with some text, so i can find it easily later. In this case, it was a photo of my health insurance ID card that my wife sent to me. I already have a photo of that card.., among the ~7000 or so other photos on my phone.., but it was easier (for me at least) to just have her send it to me again than find it by scrolling through the photos.

How can i tag the photo with the text "insurance", so that i can search for it next time?

Just looked through the Photos app, doesn’t appear like there’s a way to tag individual pictures. Not that I discovered at least.

There are a couple things you can do.

Create a new album named xxx
Send the picture to files named xxx
Send the picture to notes named xxx
Etc.
