Save shsh and update?

My iPhone is on 4.0 . If I want to save the shsh for 4.01, do I have to update to 4.01 on my iPhone 4? I want to save the shsh on my computer.

Cydia showed my 4.01 shsh is already saved, but I prefer to save it in my computer.
