17" iMac G5 (pre-iSight), 1.8GHz, 1GB ram, superdrive, airport card. The only thing wrong with it (aside from all the stickers I peeled and cleaned off of it) was a dead hard drive. Have one of my spare hdd's in it right now and have a new one (along with 2GB of ram) on order.

The screen is perfect (beautiful!), wireless works great, cosmetically looks like new after a good cleaning. Been running a fresh install of Leopard for the last couple of days and has been rock solid.

Good find! Congrats!

A little strange because back when I first considered an iMac, I remember leaving one of our other houses and driving by this landfill, and I imagined what it'd be like to find a white one out there somewhere. :p

So I'm guessing when you turned it on, it had the blinking question mark/folder? If so the previous owner probably didn't have much knowledge on Macs, or didn't even bother looking up the fix.

In any case, what an amazing find. :)

That was the landfill server. Where will the garbage store its data now?
