i foolishly made my windows partition to small and now it is almost empty, and borderlands is in the mail. i grabbed a 500gig external HD from my pops, partitioned it and want to put all my games on the FAT DOS or w/e it is called side. i assume i need to reinstall the games onto the harddrive, is there way to keep my saved games and do this? it would be nice to move the games too, since most are cracked bc i don't like having to have the disc to play them (which was very handy on an early vacation to a cold, rainy beach after christmas). any help would be good! thanks

i also have 3-4 steam games, what can i do with those?

Every game does it differently, often they are just stored in a directory inside the game directory. Some games have moved to storing them in your home folder. Either way, typically you can easily move them around; you just have to find them.

Depends on the game. Even Steam games can use save files in the My Docs folder. It's impossible to tell. Just copy the game to the external drive and try running it. Then rename the large game folder on the internal drive and try running the game from the external... if it plays just fine delete the original folder on the internal. Repeat for all games.
Source engine games (Portal, HL2 etc) keep their save files internal to Steams folder. It's portable too so you can copy the Steam folder anywhere you want and it will still function without any reinstalls.

thanks, i figured out the steam games. you have to copy the steamapps folder over to the other disk, then uninstall steam and reinstall steam on the external. the rest of the games are tricky. i'm gonna try and just find the save files and reinstall them on to the external soonish
