Saved Rosetta 2 Installer?

Has anybody saved the Rosetta 2 installer or found a location?

I reinstalled using 11.5RC but removed the Developer Profile BEFORE installing Rosetta. Now it cannot find it and I cannot reinstall the profile, since the installer needs Rosetta 2!

Meanwhile I am downloading the 11.4 IPSW to start over. Restoring the system is fast, restoring disk contents is glacial.

To install Rosetta 2, run the following command with root privileges:

/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta

You have to be connected to internet obviously.

Not sure is sharing Rosetta is according to ToS - but once installed, just use Find Any File app or similar and search for .pkg files...

Filter the results as most recent ones and look for the file size of ~450kb.

Newer ones tend to be smaller then older ones - and I would discourage using the older ones (esp as Apple tried to sort SSD wearing issue - and many YTubers claimed that Rosetta was the culprit)

I had tried the command line with the same error.
I ended up using a system restore to 11.4 using Apple Configurator 2.

Is it worth reinstalling it to get newer versions or does it update automatically?

Sorry to hear for the hassle.

Once you have it - you can still find and back it up as mentioned above...
Or another option - use some file search tool to extract it from Time Machine backup.

I keep mine on the usb installer disk - just in case.

I am not sure just dropping it in its folder without the installer works. Alas, I was too much in a hurry to set up the older version to stop and save the installer.
All working fine and upgraded to 11.5 now.

I'm now owner of MBP m1max and wish to use software from Itel days, so I've read I should install

softwareupdate --install-rosetta

at the Terminal.

I've tried but the message is contradictory ... Please advise.

I should add that I've failed to install a download of the earlier software I wanted. But now trying other tacks.

It should just ask to load when you run an Intel-only app. The latter has to be 64bit.

I have installed a couple of 64-bit Intel only apps and all I did was start the install and Rosetta2 was automatically installed with it. It was so smooth I almost didn't catch it.
