Saving $400 on refurb. MBA 13 1.86Ghz vs new MBA 13 1.86Ghz makes sense?

I now need a MBA 13 and seeing the refurbished MBA models, I see is $400 cheaper to get the previous MBA 13 1.86Ghz $849 than the new MBA 13 186Ghz $1249, should i save $400?

The fact is I just bought a new MBA 11 thinking the 11 screen was perfect for me to use at school, I was wrong, I find it really very small So now I will resell the MBA 11 and get a MBA 13.

Battery life seems great on new model but should i go and spend $400 on new MBA 13 instead of previous MBA 13?

Better screen, battery life, ssd and performance. It is hard to say whether it is "worth it", but for me personally I wouldn't want to use the old Air as my computer. I would just buy a MBP or something instead if the new Air wasn't available.

thanks aberrero, the fact is i also own an imac 27 i7, so i just need something light to replace my ipad, that's why I bought the mba 11 but the screen is or i find it too small now I received it, so then I intend to sell the MBA 11 and to buy the MBA 13.

The price difference between previous and new model is kind of big $400 for same processor, same 2 gb ram. I spend $400 and get 2 hours more of battery life and better gpu? Then as you said for new MBA 13 $1249 the new MBP 13 at $1099 seems a nice deal even when it weights a little more.

The processor isn't the same. The old ones would overheat and they would never actually run at 1.86ghz. The benchmarks show that even the 1.4Ghz 11" is faster than the old 1.86Ghz. If speed is important to you, then you wouldn't want to use the old MBA. The other big thing is the screen. The higher resolution makes it better for getting work done on. It is why I never bought the MBP13, the MBA11 or the old MBA13. I like high resolution displays, and I am very happy with the fact that Apple has finally put one in a 13" laptop.

But as you said, the difference in price is pretty big. The old MBA certainly makes more financial sense, it will depreciate more slowly and is a smaller investment up front. On the other hand, like I said, I wouldn't want to use it as my everyday laptop. If my main goal was to save money I would just get a PC, because the Asus U35Jc or U33Jc I think are better than the old Air and are selling for around that $800 pricepoint. Actually, if it wasn't for the screens and lack of SSD, they would be even better than the new Air.

i already bought the previous mba at MBA 13 1.86Ghz $849 and still reselling my new mba 11. I am gonna get me a drobo or a 4TB external hard drive with the $400 i save
