saving indesign logo as jpg...?

hello...i've created a logo in indesign and i need to save it in a format that can be used by a PC user without it becoming fuzzy. i tried saving it as a JPG, but when my client needs to resize the JPG for any reason, it is immediately blurry and doesn't print correctly.

do i need to recreate the logo in illustrator or photoshop? it contains words and an image.

any help will be greatly appreciated. thank you...

Resizing a JPG will result in a blurry image regardless of what program you've created it in.

The only way to allow scalability and maintain quality is using an EPS file with all vector information intact. This does not mean re-saving the JPG in the EPS format, this won't work since it's still a JPG file and thus will still get blurry when resized.

If your client can't use an EPS file then the next best thing would be to output the logo in various sizes and send those to them so they can pick and choose what size will fit their needs.

No ... Under the File menu you'll find an option to Export. One of the export formats is EPS, so you're good to go!

Be aware, however, that if the image included in the logo is a bitmap (ie, the source was a JPEG or TIFF) then this will suffer the same problem with re-sizing regardless of whether or not it's embedded in an EPS file ...
