iPhone Saving locations/dropping pins in Google Maps?

Is there a way to drop a pin/save a location that you want to come back to using Google Maps on iPhone?

Touch and hold the screen on the location. The pin will appear. Touch it again and some options will pop up.

I do not log into Google Maps, if I do, will it synch the pins so I can view them on other devices? Any idea if there is a limit to the number of pins you can save?

The locations sync to "Your Places" on other signed-in devices. I don't know if there's a limit.
