Ok, so I have a fairly decent collection of music that will fit on my MacBooks harddrive. I bought a 500gb external to save my movies to. What is the easiest way to save my movies to the external, but save my music to my MB's harddrive. Can this be done? Thanks,
Jay

Yes, this is what I'm doing.

Save your movies to your external and then OPTION+Drag the title into iTunes. The Option will remove the + sign when you're dragging which means that it is only putting a reference in iTunes to that movie versus copying the file into the iTunes library.

The only downside is that you have to avoid opening the movie files in iTunes when you're not connected to the external. Otherwise it will break the reference.

Of course, when you're syncing your movies to :apple:TV you need to have your external connected until the sync is done.
