Ok so the MBP's got a speed bump when the macbooks were released, and im pretty set on getting a Pro for school next semester. Ill be playing games and such under bootcamp, and i need a bit of advice.

Is it better to go with the low-end 2.0/128 mb with 2Gb RAM or to go with the 2.16/256 mb with 1Gb of ram? Ill be playing BF2 and half Life, and a few others, obviously video-intensive games, and im thinking the better graphics card would be in my interests, but if it doesnt sacrifice too much, id like to bump it down to the 2.0/128 version and boost the ram for ~the same results.

Any advice?

Oh, and if anyone has heard of someone playing Battlefield 2 on a Macbook under boot camp, id love to hear about it.
 
As far as I can see, the graphics cards are the same. The expensive model just has more RAM. I'm not sure the extra graphics RAM it makes a big difference in games. In games that don't utilize that much graphics RAM, it makes no difference at all.

I recommend looking at benchmarks for the games you want to play and compare between the two (if such benchmarks are available).
 
Yeah, thats what i was thinking. Then i read up on this 950 integrated graphics mobo, and apparently it can allocate up to ~200 Mb of your own RAM, but its not user-accessible so.... Yeah, it was a shot in the dark... but you know.... :D
 
Alright so nix on the Macbook.

So now to go with the 256 mb Vcard or the 128? Its a $300 difference, when i boost it up to a gig or Ram (ill buy some aftermarket stuff, apple is too expensive with Ram)

I'd go for the 128. It only has a 128-bit memory bus so it won't even fully utilize 256MB; even though ATi says it's 256-bit, it only has 2x128-bit rings which is essentially 128-bit.
