Has anyone gotten the com.apple.springboard.plist SBFakeCarrier setting to work on their iPhone 5? Getting tired of reading AT&T on my springboard.

I've tried to edit my plist manually to reflect a blank carrier. I like to just completely remove the carrier altogether. I found a tutorial but I don't have a "fakecarrier" entry in my plist. I'm jailbroken on 5.1.1 but I'd like to do this manually instead of installing an MS tweak. Any advice? Worst case I'll just keep NoCarrier installed.

You can manually add the entry into your plist and it should work.

I remember using my old 3GS' backup when I first purchased my iPhone 4 on 4.1 when there wasn't a jailbreak for a month. My backup carried over the SBFakeCarrier setting onto my vanilla iPhone 4. Too bad that wasn't the case for the iPhone 5

I stopped messing around with it. I needed to reinstall Springtomize for other reasons, and since I now have that installed, I just use it to completely remove my carrier. My status bar looks so much cleaner with just the cell and wifi strengths on the left side and also by using speingtomize, I remove the battery icon just so I have the percent on the right side along with LockInfo notification status bar icons.

If I come across how to remove carrier for the iPhone 5 I'll be sure to post it here for you.

I tried, but not work on my iPhone 5 (Black, 64G, unlock version).
I found two files named Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist with iBackupBot, and added <key>SBFakeCarrier</key> <string>your carrier name</string> to both of them. But still not work.
