One thing that came in handy on my PC was the ability to increase the size of icons on a high res screen. It also was nice on the Archos 9 to do the same, simply to make the icon targets easier to hit.

First, can anyone tell me if the same is possible on an imac or other OS-X computer?

Secondly, since there is plenty of room around the icon on the ipad screen, does anyone know if they can be enlarged (scaled up)?

Yes, you can change the icon size in OSX. I have no idea about the iPad though. I'd guess not, based on the iPhone/iPod Touch.

The dinky icons don't look so hot on that large screen. Scaling the icons to different sizes would be a great customizable feature.... let people choose how small or large the icons are.

There's a (jailbreak) app for that. :)

Cristobal, I think you have other things to worry about other then the iPad. Take your job for example: if the Hawks don't win the Cup ( ) its all on you and Niemi! Without a job you will not be able to afford and iPad.

:p

I'm sick right now, so it's tough for me to be doing anything to help the Hawks. I played good against Philly, too bad the D crapped the bed twice in a row against them and Washington the next day.

Actually, I'm trying to pick up an iPad before release, it'll motivate me to play like a beast in the playoffs. ;)

PS. My former team, the Habs, are winning the Cup this year. :D

HAHA! Anyway back on topic... Apple will figure these types of things out with time (mostly due to feedback or backlash from users). I just hope that they don't charge for every update as they do with the iPod Touch. Has Apple released news on iPhone OS updates for the iPad, probably not I suppose.

Thanks for the opinions, everyone. Any developer want to chime in? Anything in the SDK about more than one icon size? Is an ipad app icon larger than one you would create for the iPhone or Touch?

I'd like this too. Crap eyes = wants bigger icons. And bigger font sizes too for that matter. I don't always use voiceover or zoom on my iphone and probably won't always on my ipad either (depending on what I am doing), so to be able to enlarge some of the interface elements would be nice.

Screw you Apple, you are a eye sight company!

And I would like smaller icons and text. I wonder what Apple's reason for this is.....do they think everyone likes being thrown into one visual pool?

Everyone has different eyes and way in which they read and take in written and visual material and I think thiis some what discriminatory for them to restrict font and icon size to what they deem appropriate.

People like the freedom to adjust the size of their fonts and icons and this is just another way Apple takes it's customers individual rights away.

Some like large some like small, there is no universal eye sight so Apple cut us a break and let us adjust our screens so we are comfortable looking at our screens!
