Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro (OS10.15.7(?) Catalina, 2012) and a Mac Mini (same vintage). OS is high as it will update and I need a flatbed photo scanner for good-rez family pics till I upgrade machines (someday). Most seem to require OS 10.5. Can you recommend something? Ty! DonnaC

use a service that scans ... a "good" photo scanner will cost, you might or not like the outcome. Research some services in your area, try them out. they should have professional-grade scanners and you will most likely see better results

A possible workaround, in order to minimize costs before upgrading to current hardware, is to buy a small tripod, such as a Joby GorillaPod, and a ring light for use with either a phone camera or a point-and-shoot digital camera. Then a dedicated, up-to-date scanner can be purchased alongside a new computer. The tripod and light will remain useful as well.
