Hey guys, Just a quick one. I know the screen on the imac is magnetised onto it and on reading up on it you can remove this with suction cups. Now, i don't want to be trying anything to an Imac that has since updated to not allow you to do this anymore so I was wondering do you know if I can do this with mine? The reason I want to do this is irrelevant. Thanks for any advice

Model Name: iMac

Model Identifier: iMac14,2

Your iMac14,2 (Late 2013, 27-inch) is not simple to open up. the screen is NOT held on with magnets, but you have to slice the case open (cutting through the double-sided tape) to get inside.
Apple has not used magnets since the iMac was upgraded to the thin design in late 2012.
If you want to see how you can open the case on YOUR iMac, iFixit has a good repair guide, showing you all the steps....

iFixit also sell a kit with a cutting wheel tool and the replacement adhesive strips, tagged as to position.
