How do I set up a schedule for my phone (11 pro running iOS 14 beta) to automatically turn on do not disturb when I’m at work?

I know I can schedule it to be automatically on do not disturb between certain hours, but I don’t work every day.

i was trying to get it to work in shortcuts so that it automatically turns on do not disturb between certain hours or when I’m physically at work, but that didn’t seem to work either.

This is my first iPhone after being with android for 6 years so am I just missing something? Thanks!

Someone may be able to assist you with the Shortcuts aspect. That would be the ultimate solution, provided it can be done. I haven’t messed with Shortcuts in several years.

If I were in your iPhone shoes, I would simply set the DND as needed, depending on my work schedule for the week. As soon as I knew what my schedule would be, I would set those specific days and hours for DND.

I think I've created a shortcut that might work for you. Let me test it a little more.

I believe this might work for you. It gets your current location and compares the street portion of the address to your work street. If it matches, then DND will be enabled until you leave your work address.

The third step is just a confirmation dialog to show the street of your current location, which you can delete it if/when everything is working ok for you.

Be sure to give this shortcut permission to access your location. You can do that in the three dots menu next to the shortcut name (along with other shortcut options). 1595289500031.png

You'll need to create the shortcut using these steps, and entering the street address of your work address in the second step. The third step is just a confirmation dialog to show the street of your current location, which you can delete it if/when everything is working ok for you.

To get to the DND step, go to Scripting > Set Do Not Disturb.

Let me know how it goes for you.

Thanks for helping with the Shortcut.

You'll need to create the shortcut using these steps, and entering the street address of your work address in the second step. Your work street address has to match exactly how it shows in Locations or Maps. For example, one address I tried ended in Rd, and Road didn't work in the shortcut.

The third step is just a confirmation dialog to show the street of your current location, which you can delete it if/when everything is working ok for you.

this is what I had set up before, but it didn’t seem to work. Maybe because I was already at work when I tried to set it up?

So I think I figured out the issue. A location based automation won’t run automatically, but a time based one will. Hopefully they’ll update it so that location based automations can run automatically at some point.

For now, I’ve just set it to be on do not disturb during work hours.

What are your daily working times? Maybe you can use that.
