Warehouse 13 looks great so far! I downloaded it for free also... and again... and iTunes is in the process of downloading it again! :confused:

Dono what your us SyFy channel is like but if it is anything like ours how about some Sci Fi programs and not buffy, angel, horror movies. Or is this re branding so they can buy more cheep non sci fi programs.

Well, I just meant that if they spend the amount of money that they did for this re-branding on their new shows, then it should be a good move.
And yes, during the daytime, the U.S. does play some older shows, but coming this fall, with their new line up, it should be interesting. I mean it can't get any worst can it? Hopefully :).
 
The name SyFy is dumb, what does it mean? Why did they change it? I originally thought the brand change was going to reflect how they werent just sci fi anymore.

The logo isnt anything special at all. Looks good but its just another run of the mill text logo. They probably spent thousands and thousands of dollars for it. The whole corporate identity is nice, the logo just isnt anything special or creative.
 
I stopped watching the SciFi (wait I mean SyFy?!?) channel because of all the horrible made for TV movies they are playing now! They must have a $10,000 budget!

Now Warehouse 13, which is meh. Caprica is gonna have a ton of money thrown at it too.

They always did B movies. I remember several years ago the last time I had "full" cable they were the old B movies from the 70's and 80's which were really bad. They were big on LEXX back then too, which might have started their venture into trying to make their own British style sci-fi shows.

The biggest difference between old and new is probably the amount of TV shows, they used to have very little TV shows and were almost exclusively movies, now they have a lot of TV shows.
 
If you are going to go to all that trouble to rebrand yourself, you might as well brand according to the actual content. The "scifi" channel doesn't have that much science fiction on it. It's more about horror or fantasy than science fiction. They should call it something like "Imagination Channel" or whatever...

I love science fiction, especially the old "B" stuff from the 50s and 60s, or the classics like Alien(s) or The Thing. The syfy channel has very few if any of those types of shows so I never got into watching that channel. I think they are blowing a big opportunity by rebranding themselves into something they really don't represent. As for the logo? What does it have to do with SyFy? I like the visual style, but it fails to capture the essence of what they show on their network. If you look at it and think "BattleStar Galactica" do you see a connection? I don't.

That is true, but the B movies used to be B+ movies, now they are at level C... haha I used to enjoy those movies but now it just seems they have run out of ideas and will make a movie about anything that pops in their heads!

I'm an advertising major and i think it sucks.First I think they should have made their logo abit more techie looking but they went with a more softer modern look and maybe that look was the designer taste****Rule number 4*** in design never put your taste on designs but go with the company theme.It looks like if it would have been better for a martha steward show and they should not have changed the spelling of the channel that causes confusion,not everyone will get it at first.

Six months to old. To many people and newbies bumping old posts he last few weeks
 
changing name doesnt matter.. the thing that matter the most is that they shud not play with there TRP and quality...
