I love my 18 month old MBP 14” but with only light usage, the tab and caps lock keys are causing me concern. Whilst they both work, the key travel on both of these keys is minimal and much less than other keys on this amazing keyboard. As I have less sensory feedback on both of these keys, I occasionally double tap in error thinking the key hasn’t registered when it has. Also the tab key has recently started clicking as if it’s not seated correctly.
I’ve not subjected the device to any shock and I’m the sole user.
New models I’ve inspected in the Apple Store perform as you’d expect with identical key travel so it appears mine is unusual.
I’ve booked an Apple Genuius appt next week and wondering if this key issue is experienced by anyone else?
Also, will apple require a two day fix when dropping off late morning?
Many thanks!

I haven't heard of any systematic issues with the post-butterfly keyboards. As far as the timeframe for repair goes, it's impossible to say for sure. Factors such as how many other Macs are in for repair, part availability, whether the device can be repaired in-house or has to be sent to a repair center can all affect the turnaround time.
