Scout Camera is a beautifully designed camera app - with stunning effects that you can see while taking photos, and a choice four different aspect ratios (4:3, 3:2, 16:9 and 1:1).

It has a clean design, with controls that stay out of your way, so you can clearly see the photo you're taking.

As you're the developer of paperless lists I purchased this camera app. I've enjoyed using your other app so can't imagine the quality would be any less for this one.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Hope you enjoy using Scout Camera too. :)

Scout Camera 1.0.2 is now available, with some great new features:

On the iPhone 5, it allows you to switch the camera's low light boost mode on/off, with an indicator that turns red when low light boost is active - so you can tell exactly when it's boosting low light:

(note: the button in the upper left allows you to quickly turn geolocation on/off)

An improved photo browser.

Optional user interface sounds.

An option to take small photos, at 1024 pixels max.

Am downloading it now, will let you know what I think. If I like it, I may post about it on my blog... (see pie link) and 99¢ is very fair for a good app! :)

Scout Camera is FREE this weekend only!

In addition, my other app Paperless is on sale this weekend for just $0.99. It's currently ranked as the number 4 Productivity app in the U.S. App Store. Help me push it to number one so I can take a screen shot. ;):D

HI Atari,

I tried Scout (last week so I payed for it) but after downloading and playing with it a bit, it froze. I deleated it and planned to re-download but now it does not show up in my purchased apps?

Too bad, just did a blog post on my fav camera apps but obviously could not include it.

I'll check it out.

Downloading. I've got so many camera apps it's ridiculous. But i'm weeding out the ones that don't have that sparkle and hopefully i'll be left with a good selection of unique apps.

Can you tell me what device this was on? I've had a couple of reports of it crashing when taking a photo on an iPhone 4S.

I'm looking into fixing the problem, and believe it happens when there are other apps taking up most of the iPhone's memory.

For now, you can clear it up by restarting your iPhone. My apologies for the trouble.

(also, if the app isn't showing up in your purchased apps, try restarting your iPhone for that too... could be a temporary glitch with the App Store app)

Scout Camera is FREE for a limited time!

Grab the app, go exploring and post your awesome photos to Instagram or Twitter (right from the app) with the #scoutcamera tag. :)

The iOS 7 update for Scout Camera is now available. Aside from the completely redesigned user interface, it includes a handy slider to adjust the image filter strength - providing a nice range of possibilities.

Find out more about the update here.
