Are you sure the Scrabble iPhone app is universal? I own it and I have to run it in 2x mode on my iPad, so unless I missed an update I don't think it's universal.

i just took a look the scrabble for 2.99 is a iphone app and not universal so it will either be small or u have to 2x it.

the 9.99 app is designed for the ipad.

grr i was excited i would definitely buy scrabble for 2.99 but 9.99 when you can buy the real thing cheaper doesn't appeal to me :(

I bought the iPad version and it is beautiful looking. But the logic has some flaws. It allows some words and tile placement that violate the rules of the game.

Yeah, because you can play the real thing over the Internet.

Yea for free actually.

Owned from my iPad on 3G. :D

It's not worth the $9.99 because I can stand the iPhone version in slightly fuzzy 2x mode and I don't have much desire to use iPhones as tile racks. I was bummed to see that they are not synced - iPhone high score didn't transfer to the iPad. Oh well.

The iPad version has a new feature, you can download a free app for your iPhone and using your iPad, you and your friends can use the iPad as the board and your iPhones/iPod Touch as the letter rack. Pretty nifty.

Why does the tile rack app have so many 1 star ratings? Is it buggy or something? Or did a ton of people just download it and not realize you have to have the iPad app for it to work?

Not sure as I never used them, what do the reviews say when you read them?

Yeah, the problem is everyone playing has to have their own device. One of the reviewers had a good suggestion, make it possible to just use one iPhone and pass it around, the tiles shown switch to the next person's, at least then everyone else can still see the board and you get privacy for your tiles.

Yeah, that's the point. :) Otherwise you play the Pass and Play version and just pass the iPad around.

On the iPad app, has anyone figured out how to end the game if there is nothing left that is playable?

More specifically, if I am playing against the CPU and we get down to the point where we each have a couple of tiles left, and we both pass, there doesn't seem to be a way to end the game and have it score. It just has the CPU pass, and then I pass, and then the CPU passes, ad nauseum. Any ideas?

Scrabble iPad

If you have an iPad & at least a couple iPhones, or at least friends with iPhones.... It's fun.... It did crash on me a couple times... But I'm sure updates will fix that.... The tile rack functionality is very cool.... I look forward to seeing more apps utilizing the iPhone to control games on the iPad.....
