Scratch that, my MBPs not perfect...

I noticed the yellow tint and the guys at the apple store agreed that it is a problem, and offered a repair. However they told me the screen type (eg samsung or LG) is governed and given by the serial # on my computer, thus they said that the screen they would pop on would be another Samsung (since mine has a samsung).

Is this repair worth doing or should I just get a replacement? Could this actually fix my problem?

2 more little problems:

1: when I put the screen to 0 brightness, it is off. When my mac falls asleep, if I wake it, upon waking up the screen flashes at full brightness, then returns to 0 like it had been set. Why the hell? My old MBP never used to do this.

2: when I game some warcraft 3 (I haven't tried any other games that's why I'm being specific) there's a weird whining noise coming out of my computer. I'm almost sure of this, because when I turn the game into a window and hit the "all windows" expose, the whining stops as the windows are spreading, then restarts when they are layed out. I can't figure out what could possibly be making this noise.

So what should I really do with this?

I'm currently in the process of trying to get my Samsung LCD (yellowing) fixed by Apple. I've mailed it in once already and they apparently replaced the hardware that powers the LED lighting. That pretty much did nothing.

I've shipped it back to them a second time and the Apple CSR assigned to my case mentioned possibly replacing the logic board (which makes absolutely no sense to me...but whatever I don't build the things).

In your case it doesn't sound like a repair, more like they are completely replacing the LCD. I'm assuming they would replace it with one that they've tested to not have the issue. But you never know...its always sort of a crapshoot it seems

I should have specified, yes by repair they meant replace the screen. But I'm 100% sure it would not have been tested either lol. Hell even the technicians I spoke to on the phone didn't know which LCD models the MBPs came with (samsung & LG) and they said they had no way of deciding which apple sent me, and could not clarify on whether the displays were infact linked with the serial number as I was told.
