I may realize that I might be too late but i'll ask anyway.

After a series of very long events that are too complicated to explain here, my phone basically fell 5 feet onto the sidewalk.

The screen is not damaged in anyway, however the back looks like its been through a warzone. There are a MILLION tiny scratches. They all actually feel like little dents in the back of the iphones plastic.

Is there anyway I can get rid of or "hide" these scratch marks, they're really bugging me...(and yes i've gotten a case now).

There is no way to make your naked phone look like new save replacing the back (expensive and difficult). Your solution (a case) is best.

ah well I expected that.

I guess i'm just happy the front is completely scratchless and the phone works fine :/

If it were me, I'd try sanding the back down with a super-fine (1500 grit) sandpaper. It couldn't hurt, right? ;)

What exactly would that do? just smoothen everything out? im taking a guess as the only way to hide the scratch marks is to get a case?

It would be like buffing out scratches on a car finish to make it look better. Just don't remove too much material and weaken the integrity of the phone back.

Here are some options:

1. Buff it out with 1500-2000 grit sandpaper.
2. Put a case over it.
3. Apply an iPhone skin to cover it up.
4. Buy a brand new iPhone.
5. Deal with it.

How can I get rid of scratches from the back of my 3G?

I recently just exchanged my iPhone 3G for a "new" one (probably a refurb.) The back was perfect, however, in the last couple of days, it has been getting nicks left and right (most of them seem to be caused by the cases I have been using.) So i was wondering is there any way to buff these out before I buy an InvisibleShield type of film for the back?

One option that wasn't on that linked post...

Radtech's Ice Creme (yes, it's Ice Creme and not Ice Cream).

I think it's for deep nicks and scratches and not small ones though.
