Has anyone noticed any scratches on their iPad screens after a few weeks of normal use. I have a screen protector on mine and would really like to take it off. Thanks

I have a Zagg on it. It's as good as any but I don't like the feel of it. Seems to create "drag". Also, or its my imagination the screen does not seem as clear as it did
FYI, I have several scratches on my screen already. I have kept mine in a case since i bought it and clean it basically every day with a clean microfiber cloth and iKlear.
So YES, the oleophobic coating will scratch. Granted, you can only see the scratches in certain angles with light reflecting off of the screen just right, but they are there.
I just ordered a anti-fingerprint screen shield from SGP because of this. Was hoping to avoid one, but don't want more scratches showing up over time.

i was very disappointed with the zagg screen protector. i removed it after one days use. the screen isn't as clear with it on and the touch isn't as sensitive. I feel like i wouldn't put a screen protector on my netbook, it doesn't go in my pocket like my iphone, i take good care of it, i read an article that apple stopped making screen protectors because their screens are now "scratch resistant". So i am in the process of getting a refund from zaggs
It's a tough decision. I agree with you about the Zagg but I don't want the scratches either. Think I'll leave it on until there are some posts on the SGP saver

Are you sure those are really scratches, even just in the coating? My iPhone 3GS has been naked since I bought it last June, and I can't see anything but a perfectly smooth surface under any kind of light. All I ever do to it is wipe it with a microfiber cloth, and I keep the phone in my relatively rough pockets most of the time. I almost wonder if something in the iKlear is causing your issue.
Try the ghost armor screen protector. Much Better feeling than the zag. I cannot even tell it's on. I would rather have it protected just in case. It only takes one scratch. My screen is just as clear and infact less smudges and less of a glare. I dd a write up on it and very impressed.

As stated all it takes is one scratch and your eyes will focus on that forever. I have no doubt the screen is tough, but many are not using the right screen protector. Zagg is crap. Ghost Armor feels as if your touching the glass. For 24 bucks worth the try. Once the armor is completly cured looks like out of the box. Plus your not cleaning finger smudges every 5 min
Nothing, and I mean nothing, beats the feel of the iPad glass. It isn't easy to scratch (I don't baby mine at all.) I just use my Apple iPad case, no screen protector. I often take it out of its case, too. I carry it around in a bag full of other stuff everyday, everywhere I go.
iphone I think needs a screen on it , as its in your pocket and more mobile. Something like the iPad wont be as fragile with handling as a mobile phone. Which is why I am going screen-less on the iPad. However I have thought about putting on a matte screen protector, depending how bad the glare is outside!
I have been using this thing screen protector less since day one and don't have a single scratch on here. Been using it in an apple case when out to cut down on the back scratching. I just feel Ike any screen protector taints the way the touch screen responds to gestures and inputs. And like someone posted above me, can't beat the feel of the naked glass.
Positive that they are real scratches, most likely just in the coating as I can only see them in certain angles and light. I know they are there for sure cause if I run my nail over them, it catches a bit.
I'm just saying...I was not going to get a screen protector for this at all. I loved the plain glass and did not even mind having to wipe off the fingerprints constantly, but now that I have scratches on it, I am getting one for sure to prevent future ones from forming.
If you look at the iPhone 3GS threads, a lot of people on there were reporting getting scratches on their screen. The consensus seemed to be that this was a scratching of the oleophobic layer, and not actually in the glass. Likely the same thing will happen with the iPad.
Ditto...exact same situation. I've had the iPad in the apple case since day one, and clean the screen with the cloth which came with my iMac daily. Still, however, ive noticed two hairline scratches near the middle of the screen. No idea how they could have gotten there, as the iPad has only ever been in my hands, has been very lightly used and always in a case. Maybe if I threw it in my bag without the case or something...I could understand some screen scratches. Like you said they can only be seem in the right light, but they're definately there. It's pretty mind boggling to me, considering I watched the pc world video of someone scratching the screen with a key and not a single mark was left. These same scratches are on my BlackBerry as well...someone else suggested they may be dust scratches in the coating, from the microfiber cloth...who knows.

Oh yes and another cudo to ghost armor is that if you have a scratch the armor will fill it. Many of the 2010 camaro were getting hiarline scratches in the face. Ghost armor stepped up and made an armor to cover. You can no longer see those scratches and trust me the feel is ausome

I've noticed if you clean the screen with a microfiber cloth (dry), it looks great till you touch it again
But, if it's damp, it actually removes the film. And consequently last longer.

i've had mine in a zagg for almost a week now and have no regrets. Though do believe the crispness of the screen is somewhat reduced; though i have lowered my expectations with some areas regarding the iPad...
