Hello,

For the iPhone 14 PM, I am having an issue with the phone where the screen goes from bright and vivid to a warm tone after a few seconds instead of instantly. So if I pull it out of the pocket, it's bright and then a few seconds later, it gets warm and dim. Everything is at stock.

Is this software related?

Is anyone having this issue? Not sure if I should return it or not. The thing is that it takes a while to get another one in.

Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Could be software. Could be your settings. Could be your phone getting too hot if it's a hot room or hot outside. Could be a faulty ambient light sensor. I'd update then reboot your phone, if it still happens, take it into Apple and have them run a diagnostic to check out that ambient light sensor.

For the tone: Have you tried turning true-tone off? In case you don’t know you can quickly disable it by long pressing the brightness-toggle in control Center.

I've noticed this True Tone lag as well a handful of times on my 14 Pro.
The always on display also tweaks out a bit sometimes when I pull it out of my pocket.
It will go from being off (because of being in pocket) to on like if it were just normally on, and then back to "always on" dim.

Seeing this as well on my 14PM (also mentioned by others in different thread). My assumption is that it’s related to the addition of the second ambient lighting sensor on the back of the 14. I’m hopeful it gets sorted out in one of these next updates. Very strange behavior.
