Hi guys,

Since jailbreaking last night, I'm having some brightness issues. My screen, from unlock, is way too dark. And if I brighten it up, it's fine, until I lock the screen again. If I let the screen dim before locking it, using it before the lock doesn't increase brightness again either. Any ideas what's causing this?

I've had this bug too. Even before the jailbreak. It's not often, but does happen on occasion. For me, just locking and reunlocking the screen solves the problem, instead of going into settings and rechanging the brightness.

I am having problems where everytime I respring my iPhone 5, the screen is much dimmer than before the respring. When I go to adjust the brightness, just touching the brightness bar makes it go back to how it should be. Is this what you are experiencing?

I am having the same exact issue ever since the jailbreak and I respring my iPhone 5. I have to keep going into Settings to tap Brightness to get it normal again.

Oddly enough, going into Settings -> Brightness and toggling auto-brightness to off and then on seems to have fixed the problem.

Using SBSettings.

Auto-brightness worked fine before the jailbreak. That much is sure. I just restored and the auto-brightness slides by itself depending on the brightness in the room.

I did the jailbreak. Nothing else at all. I didn't even run cydia. It doesn't work at all. I just wanted to make sure folks were informed.

Before I went and did all that. I removed each an every tweak I installed and checked before I did the restore. Something gets broken by the jailbreak. I am pretty sure it was the same way with the 5.1.1 jailbreak. I know that at night it would always stay very bright.

Ok, now I will go ahead and retract everything I just said. It works right this second. without NC Settings

I have a brightness issue as well. however, when I adjust my brightness to make it "wake up" from being dark after respring I can take my phone to the bathroom and hold it to the lights and it goes auto-up and auto-down just fine if I pull my phone away. So It does work it's just weird. I almost thought that the slider in the actual settings (not any shortcuts--at least not the NCsettings NC widget) sets a minimum brightness but have not confirmed it. I just have been living with it but glad you started a topic on this so others know they are not alone.

I had the same issue. I think NCSettings is culprit. I also have problem where notification pull down stopped working completely. It seems like it's frozen but I'm still able to use iPhone except pulling down from top doesn't show notification.

Whenever this happens, just let the screen automatically turn off before you unlock the phone, then when you turn it back by pressing the home button or the lock button, the brightness is back to normal. It's a known issue that should be fixed soon.

I find that, after a re-spring that leaves the screen dark, simply locking the phone via the sleep/lock button & then unlocking it again brings it back to normal brightness.

I use NCSettings too, but I don't use its brightness slider because the auto-brightness in iOS is pretty decent.

I have the same issue. It used to happen to me occasionally before the jailbreak. After jailbreaking it seems to happen every time I respring.

Known issue with NCSettings? Or iOS?

I have the same issue. Seems to be popping up after resprings. Cycling the sleep button brings back brightness. I don't use auto-brightness or NCsettings.

Couple common apps/tweaks I am using:

Auxo
Winterboard
Barrel
Infinidock
ISX
Opennotifier
Springtomize
Zephyr
Bitesms

I have the same problem but it only happens if I respring through springtomize no problem if I respring through sbsettings

It's hard to say exactly what's causing it. Some users with only NCSettings installed are reporting the issue. Some with only Springtomize installed are reporting the issue. And there are some without either of these two tweaks installed and they are reporting this issue. It might be related to the jailbreak. Maybe some cache file or plist isn't being read correctly after a respring or isn't being read until the device is fully locked after a respring. I think once you unlock the device during the dimmed screen then you need to adjust the settings. Based on this, I believe the appropriate file isn't being read immediately following the respring. For whatever reason, it is being accessed after the device is locked.

i am experiencing the same thing. sbsettings didnt dim the screen after a respring, although auxo and springtomize did.
