I had a 15 2.4 MBP and truly hated the screen, my 2.2 Macbook is awesome.......my macbook is much clearer.....

My wife has a MacBook I have a MacBook Pro 2.2. They are close but my MacBook Pro screen seems better to me over all. I'm very pleased with it. But both are nice screens

I find the MacBook screens are often extremely blown out with cathode bleed at the bottom.

They also have really poor viewing angles compared to MBP screens.

It's really a deal-breaker for me after using a MBP for years.

My MBP (non-sr) screen blows. I've had good screens and bad screens, and colors are "normal", it's bright, and if it's not angeled 100% perfectly, the colors are off. So what if you can see if from the left and right, I can't see it head on 1/2 the time without adjusting it.

I like the MBP screen better, but I admit I'm making the comparison on older generation models. But when I moved up from MB to MBP the difference was shockingly better for a few days until I got used to it.

I can't stand the macbook (or any glossy) screen at all. The matte macbook pro screen is 10000x better then a macbook side by side in my opinion.

I think the mainly problem is that
1. The view angle of MB is not good as MBP's.
2. The screen of MB doesn't have a LED backlight.

Besides these two, I think a normal user can't feel different of them.

I've had 2 SR Macbooks now, and both have had significant backlight bleed along the bottom edge of the panel. I don't have any experience with the Pro but I'd suggest that you don't purchase a Macbook if the screen quality is important to you.
