Hi Folks, I've been getting a progressively worse issue where ~24 hours purple and green corrupted characters appear on screen and OSX (Mountain Lion) eventually hangs. This is a mid 2010 iMac with 8gig memory

27" Mid 2010 iMac
Processor 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB

I did get the hard drive recall notice so wondering if that is the cause?
Anyone else seen something similar?
Screenshot attached.

Many Thanks in advance.
Adam.

This is something the Genius Bar would need to look at. This looks like a faulty graphics card or something wrong with the connection between LCD and logic board. A bad hard drive won't do this.

Same problem

I have precisely the same problem (basically same device and same pink and green squares).
27" Mid 2010 iMac
2,8 GHz Intel Core i5
8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB

How did you eventually resolve the issue?
