Screen dimmer for Vista

My iMac is giving me cataracts ! It's far too glaring to the human eye for work like Word or web browsing. I've installed Shades for Mac in Mac OS which dims the screen very well. But I haven't found any programs that work decently with Win Vista in my boot camp partition. I tried VistaShades (unrelated to Shades for Mac) and there are shortcomings here like confict with iTunes.

I wonder if someone has any suggestions to dim this iMac screen. For movies and pictures, it's a great screen but when you have to do serious work for a long time, it's a big stress to the eye. Applecare folks says there's nothing they could do. Any help here would be much much appreciated.

I have Vista installed via Bootcamp just to tinker around with but never for any real work. I know what you mean, my iMac alu has an incredibly bright screen and shades is the best for Mac OS X but there's nothing I could find for Windows. Calling Apple is the worst thing you can do since they don't support Windows. One thing you'll have to keep in mind is that the Macintosh is not a designated Windows computer, it's first and foremost designed for the Macintosh Operating System so you won't find a lot of Windows utilities for the iMac, it wouldn't be a priority for developers.
The iMac is the only Mac that needs a 3rd party screen brightness controller so you will only find worthwhile utilities written for OS X.

Would Catalyst Control Center do it?

I just found this display card control program for Vista which seems to work very well in dimming my very bright iMac screen. It's free as long as you can tolerate clicking the close button of the Tip window that surfaces after a restart of computer. It has rich features relating to display card but all I needed was the contrast and brightness control.
