Hey all,

Was previously using a 2010 Mac mini as an HTPC which had no issues with external displays. Since switching to the i2.5 2011 Mac mini, after turning on my TV, several minutes in to watching TV shows etc I get a screen flicker. It does it once and not again, but it's bizarre..., and it only does it after I turn the TV off and then on again. i.e. every time I go to use the mini.

Anyone else have this issue?

It might be something to do with Energy Saver>Display sleep or Screen Saver. Did you already set those sliders to 'Never'?

Yep. Already done that the day I set the mini up. I'm pretty sure it's a bug, but not sure if it's a graphics drive bug or a Lion bug. My 2010 mini was running Snow Leopard, so I'm going to try and install Lion on it and see if the issue is present on the 2010 mini as well.

So far, my '11 mini is a little infuriating!

I have a 2011 Mini 2.7Ghz i7 & AMD graphics connected to and ASUS 24" monitor using the HDMI to DVI adapter that came with the Mini. I'm getting random flickers too. The screen doesn't go all black, it's more of a very fast black streak that shoots accross the screen.
I'm monitoring it to see of it's temperature related because it seems to have stopped and i noticed my CPU temperature went down to 146 from 157, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I know I'm late to the party but my mid 2011 2.3ghz Mini with intel HD3000 video chipset running Mountain Lion randomly flickers (blacks out) one time during use. It's as fast as blinking your eye and then it's fine. It only does it once, maybe twice in a day. I have the mini hooked up via HDMI to a 2007 Samsung LNT4053 HDTV resolution is 720P. Should I be concerned?
