hey,i got my new mbp just yesterday and my stupid friend messed with the fonts by accident...i had to reinstall the OS from the cds...while installing and after the installing is done(now)..i can see the screen shows something like waves from top to bottom of screen(flicking??)..how to solve that??? the problem was 100% not there before the installation.

any solutions?!

Edit:this problem can be noticed especially in the middle brightnesses.

thanks for response =)
i shut down the computer, took off the battery, press and hold power button then put the battery back in and power the machine again..the problem is still there...

should i keep the megsafe connected while the process? did i do anything wrong??

No you want no power to the laptop at all when you do it. Did you leave it plugged in the first time?

nope,it was running on battery only.

I dunno what to tell you, sorry. I had the exact same problem pop up after reinstalling and it fixed things when I did the NVRAM reset. There really is no more to it than shutdown, unplug, remove battery, and hold the power button down for 5 or more seconds. Then plug in battery and reboot.

Maybe someone else has other suggestions? Good luck!

It really should fix it... it's just something that happens if you update and specifically install the EFI patch, then reinstall the OS. Effin' Apple :p
