I posted this a while back, no luck. I noticed this odd issue again a few weeks ago when filming lightning strikes. On playback the iPhone screen would go black briefly every time a bolt flashed on the screen, also editing it in iMovie on the phone. Was simply fearing my screen was dying. I forgot about it...until tonight. Watching YouTube and again, any flashing with make the screen go black. Tested other videos (Metallica has flashing lights, other lightning videos), same problems.
Messing around with settings, HDR, Auto Brightness, then 120 to 60 / Limit Frame Rate...changing this did nothing. And now perhaps the "no duh" moment for some(LOL).
I saw the setting in the Accessibility > Motion > "Dim Flashing Lights" toggled on!
Toggled that off....problem solved!
I never noticed this setting! 😆 (There are a TON of settings in the iPhone I simply do not know, or I just forget and never mess with them)
Just glad the screen wasn't having some major failure.
So..hope this helps if anyone else may experience this, it was driving me nuts.
Example of what I THOUGHT was a big issue (filmed with older phone)
Toggle off "Dim Flashing Lights" to stop this.
