So, I've had this Mac for a while - 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5 - and am still running 10.9.5 on it (I use it for music production and it's been stable). In the last two days, I've had the screen go all black for literally a second along with a click, then it goes back to normal.

This is a computer that saw very occasional use in the first 2 years. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Definitely not a case of loose cables with the monitor.

Thanks in advance!

Oh, it's a Mac Pro 6.1 - and when the screen goes blank, whatever was running on the computer at that point continues to run (i.e. streaming content - the sound continues).
