I have a new Macbook Pro 16".
15.0.1 Sequoia.
Chrome and mailbox work fine, but my on screen files and shortcuts do not respond to the mouse.
I restarted the mac but it did not solve it.
I also had an instance where nothing would respond to the mouse until I restarted it.

You're using an external mouse? Is it USB? or wireless?
Does the trackpad work OK?
Have you considered updating your system to the current 15.1?

I wonder if this is an I/O controller issue (hardware problem). I believe you may benefit from visiting an Apple Store and discussing it with them.

The wireless mouse and trackpad are working fine.
I tried to upload the software update but the mac refuses to restart, to complete the upload?

I have installed it now and everything is working.
Fingers crossed.
