This phone is always in my case and has never been dropped. I've never had a problem with the phone. However, a couple of days ago, I noticed the screen was lifting off the phone in the middle on both sides. What could be causing this? What are my repair options? Even though this phone is 3? years old, it works fine and I planned on holding on to it for at least one more year. Thanks in advance.

It’s probably a swollen battery. These can be unsafe to keep around, so I’d suggest contacting Apple for a replacement.

Hello there,

Since you have said that the phone has never been dropped, the only possible explanation to the bulging screen would be a faulty battery.

Have you checked if the phone gets hot while or after charging? This is an indication that you need to have your battery diagnosed at an Apple Store to see if it is still in the green zone. Please do keep in mind that swollen battery, or any other battery-related issue, can be really dangerous and can lead to flash or explosion. So, have it checked before it gets worse.

Hope my suggestion helps! Cheers!
