just buy the Chromecast. It's cheap. I cast a lot of videos from Youtube, GDrive and DailyMotion. It can play from mobile Chrome browser but lag.

I agree and have a chromecast

What I want most is some kind of jailbreak hack that allows ios to mirror to chromecast.

It would be nice to have a device that can mirror from both ios and android.

At this point only the appletv fits the bill
