Last week i bought a new Smart TV and whilst its not a major part of picking this particular one it does mention that it does Screen Mirroring for iOS and Android. Thing is i'm struggling to figure out how this works.

Is it built into particular apps that allow an option to do it? Do i do it via the icon that also allows casting to Apple TV for example?

I suspect that it's a spurious claim. There may be some iOS apps that will do "casting" to the TV but nothing like an Apple TV would. This is the case for my Samsung "Smart TV".

I don't know if you own or have ever seen a ($35 US) Google Chromecast in action but I've got them on our TVs and they work great. Not every app can "cast" to it from my iPhone (such as Xfinity's streaming TV app) but I fill those gaps by casting from Google Chrome on my Mac.

Did suspect that was the case and as i said its not a major reason for buying this particular TV, was just intrigued to see how it worked if it in fact did it. I've got a Chromecast already that i'll be moving to this TV and its got a Plex app i've installed already to work with my the Plex Media Server i have on my laptop at home so not sure i'd ever really use screen mirroring anyway. Just wondered if i was missing something simple.
