Hello,

(P.S I'm new here so i don't know if this is the place to put this thread!

Anyway me and my brother both have an iPhone SE (and love its small size). We both seem to have the following problem/fault.

When we press the screen (a little harder than normal), there seems to be a vertical wave/bubble (that's how i describe it) on both left and right sides of the lcd. that moves towards the center

Is this normal or a problem i should take up with apple. Sometimes i get worried about replacement devices and repairs in case they mess it up/ get a lemon replacement!

thanks!

Has the device been exposed to water?

If the device hasn’t been accidentally damaged and you’re within 1 year of purchase (or have AppleCare+ and are within 2 years of purchase), sounds like an instant swap.

If not, the out of warranty cost at Apple is $129: https://support.apple.com/iphone/repair/service/screen-replacement

Or you can DIY for about $30. It’s relatively easy to swap it yourself:

Most LCD screens will show these "ripples" when force is applied to it.

It is normal.

Its still under warranty and in mint condition. Also got it replaced at apple a few months ago because of home button fault and overheating issues a few months prior. Do you think apple will give new one rather than go and take it a part??- i always get freaked out when it goes into repair!

thanks

does it matter how much pressure? sometimes it does it with normal tapping.

It is normal for the screen to distort with pressure.

Both phones are doing it because it is normal.
