I Always have used a glass protector on my iPads - have the 2016 IPP and it's been glassed since birth.

I stopped using them on my phone though because they trapped dirt in under the cutouts for the front camera and faceID lens etc.

I figured that if I have AppleCare why do I need to baby the device with a protector and worry about a case that isn't a full case.

My current IPP has been in the smart case since I had it - glass protector on it etc.

I'm thinking that it's just more crap that I don't need - when I could in theory use AppleCare if I mess the screen up anyway.

Are people bothering with protectors?

I got the folio case this morning already and it looks great. For many I see the open sides being an issue but if the case is anything to go by the iPad itself will be lovely to hold - especially the 12.9.
