Astounding screen protector. I used one on my 12 Mini and it felt better than the actual glass screen. It’s very premium and does not affect or distort the quality of the image.
I've got the Belkin ultra glass fitted with my recent 13 Mini purchase. For purely in-store (Apple) fitting it was that or the Otterbox equivelant. Would you say that Spigen is a better product?

I have a cheap Amazon screen protector on my 14 pro and I’ve dropped my phone at least 10x and it still hasn’t cracked. I don’t know what they did but before one drop would kill and crack my screen protector’s.

No, Belkin is the best screen protector that you can get that ticks all the boxes that matter. Anything less (unless you go sapphire) would be a downgrade. Keep the Belkin, there’s a reason Apple sells it in their store!

Belkin screen protectors are quality so it’s hard to say which is better. I think the Spigen probably feels smoother to the touch but there isn’t much between them.

Also like the Belkin UltraGlass Screen protectors. Only downside is that my Apple Store for the last 2 years has refused to install them - they say that they are not allowed.

That’s why I like the Spigen EZ fit screen protectors. They are easy to apply and at least as good as Belkin.

I think there are a lot of people, especially casuals, who think that 3 screen protectors for $10 is a good deal. These people don’t understand that you pay for what you get. This is why screen protectors have a bad rap. High quality screen protectors are at least as good, and sometimes better, than the actual glass panel.

I agree with several comments here:
1) You will get micro scratches at the least and probably some larger ones if you don't use a screen protector. They won't be that noticeable in everyday use, but will be there and will lower sale value.
2) The Spigen Glass protector are awesome. Highly recommended.
3) iCarez makes great film protector if you want matte. These have the least amount of sparkle that I have found in the matte category.
4) I never use a case, but I would never not use a screen protector.

On about day 20 of owning a XS Max, I got a massive etch horizontally all the way across my screen. It looks like a big curving arc. It’s clearly visible.

Worse yet, you can feel it. With EVERY. SINGLE. SWIPE. Absolutely 100% noticeable in everyday use for every single task.

Plopped a screen protector on it. Made it so I couldn’t feel the scratch or even really see it.

Ps: I don’t give a fig for having a pristine device. Phones and computers are tools. I take care of tools so that they last and work as intended for the longest possible time.

For me not only do I like the protection from a protector but I love the smooth feeling of new oleophobic coating when you put a new one on. I know the oleophobic wears off but you get that like new feeling back again.
This is a great point. Thank you for raising it.

The local cellular store charges $40 for screen protectors, with $10 replacement. Extortionate, I know.

But I go in every few months and have a new one put on. They do a perfect job, no dust and in a few minutes which would take me an hour of futzing.

Phone feels brand new. It’s one of the big reasons I’m able to use phones until they age out of Apple’s support life cycle.

Righto, thank for the feedback. Perhaps I'll try the Spigen once the Belkin starts looking a little ratty on the edges. But then, it has a 2 yr (or lifetime, can't recall) warranty, so I probably won't lol.

Interesting. Will they install any other brands then? I'm in DE and Apple shops all have the Ultraglass (in batches) that they fit with a jig. They've been doing it this way for at least 6 yrs.

I spent a stupid amount of money on what I thought would be an exceptional screen protector (Amplify from Otterbox @ $50!).
Though they sent a replacement under their warranty (with a $9.99 shipping/handling charge tacked on) after six months of use (cracked), I decided in the interim to try iCarez screen protectors ($4.95/3 with an excellent installation kit & alignment tool).
After 8 months the first of the three iCarez is still intact and in great shape.

Never tried Otterbox for screen protectors but I haven’t heard great things about them. I have a lot of their Defender cases though for my iPads.

A cheap screen protector will do the job for sure. It just won’t look or feel as good as a Spigen or Belkin. I had a cheap $3 screen protector on my SE1 and it worked perfectly for the 8 months I had that phone as my daily driver. It didn’t feel premium though.

I think if you care about scratches then it would be moronic not to use a screen protector. These screens do scratch fairly easily if you’re putting them in pockets and even rough denim seems to cause damage. For the sake of a few quid and considering modern tempered glass protectors are practically invisible, what’s the point in not using one? I have no idea what the benefit of a bare screen is in all honesty, other than a scratch magnet. I’m sure the usual old crowd will preach that they’ve never used one and never got a scratch but they are either lying or handle their phones in the most unorthodox of ways. Just get one and forever the stress.

The benefit of a bare screen is using the screen bare lol. It’s not that deep.

Exactly, absolutely no benefit in other words, glass or glass…
Which brings up another point...........................
Given an equally clean surface, how many people could single out a brand of screen protector, or none at all..............if they were blindfolded?
How many could differentiate between the $2, the $15, or the $80 protector, or no screen protector? 🤔

Easy. I can tell the difference between a $2 tempered glass screen protector and a $10-$20 tempered glass screen protector. Anything more expensive than thet will provide diminishing returns as a solid $15 Spigan feels as good or better to the touch than the actual glass panel.
