I just bought a Mac Pro with a 6 monitor set up and I'm trying to figure out a way to have a screen saver jump from screen-to-screen?

Anyone know how to do this? I've already figured out how to set up the wallpaper across the 6 monitors but am not finding an easy solution for screen saver.

Not as important, but if anyone knows of any apps or a way to combine all six screens into one let me know as well. Thanks a ton! I'll upload a pic when it arrives tomorrow or Monday.

Unfortunately, I don't think that you are likely to find one. The problem with screensavers on Mac OS X is that each display gets it's own instance of the screen saver. They don't talk to each other since each is an independent process.

Thanks for the response. There has to be an app or a os x mod that can accomplish this. At the end of the day, this isn't a top priority but would love to make it work.

A few years back a fellow used to post here. He used a cMP to run a video wall and resolved similar issues. Afraid I'm light on details at the moment, but hopefully that scrap of info will aid in your search.

I think make one is easier than find one. (make 6 screensaver that looks like talk to each others but actually not)

On your 1st pic, the screen doesn't really looks like related. Especially on the RHS, the picture is not matching.

Yeah, I know. I just posted that to give the idea I was going for.

And agree, I'll try to build one but no that experienced in the field.

It can be done.
Just imagine each monitor to have its own screensaver instance.
I can do that.

Yeah, I think that's the route I'm going to go. How easy would it be for you to build one? Probably a quick project for you but PM me if you're interested in taking on a small project.

If it's going to be done for our community, I am going to create one for MacRumors and specially for Mac Pro section (here where we are).

Maybe I will create one until Christmas with 2 versions (will be free to all with a coupon from my website).
One will be for 1 screen (or mirror as all my screensavers on my project website on my signature) and the other will be the same screensaver with 6 instances.
That means in each screen you have to select the appropriate screensaver to display. All in total will be a huge 6x4K/5K or 8K resolution (like: top-left, top-center, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-center and bottom-right).

Let's make a "poll" Since it will be a clock (hence the website role of clocks as screensavers), what kind of clock would you all like to be? Analog, Digital, Retro, Futuristic, what? Give me an example of what you would love to use ;)

The time will take, depends on the design/graphics and code will be used. If you want a customized one just for you @MacLand then PM me with directions and details.

Cheers and if you or any other have an idea, I'm open to post it here or by PM.

For a clock that across 6 screens, may be each screen present one of the day, month, year, second, minute, hour.

In this setup, the user can use it no matter how many screen they have. E.g. a 4 screens setup can use day + month + hour + minute. Or day + hour + minute + second.

Of course, how to make them looks interrelated. Also, how to protect the screen from burning marks on the "year" / "month" screen, and keep them looks good, elegant, simple, etc. Is another challenge.
