Is there an app out there somewhere that allows screen scaling similar to windows 10? Looking for a way to increase icon and text size on a 4k monitor, but without dropping the resolution down. This doesn't seem to be a standard setting so wondering if there is an app that does it.

Thanks.

@Swamps I am in the exact same boat as you. Probably a little more peeved.

I just upgraded to a new MBP 16 from a 2013 mbp 15. The "default" text size on this new 16 is ridiculously small.

Like what is the point of having a higher res screen if the "higher res" just means the text is now smaller.

"Higher resolution" means you get to "see things". . . in a "higher resolution," not at a "smaller size."

So basically now. . .

A webpage with 14px text for example is going to show up smaller than 14px!

What's the point of even setting the text in the first place now?

This is total madness.

It's like they're redesigning the internet!

In addition to choosing the scaling best for your comfort... you can do other things as well....

While Safari is active, you can Command + and it will make the text larger, Command - will go smaller, and Command 0 will go back to original. It will save the last position you left it at. Most apps should do this. In Messages Preferences you can choose text size. In Mail, Preferences... Fonts and Colors... change the point size. Other browsers / apps... look in Preferences and look in View in the Menu Bar.

Check out EasyRes in the App Store. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/easyres/id688211836?mt=12

@8CoreWhore. Thanks man. That certainly will help.

The whole thing just doesn't make sense. It's like the definition of "higher resolution" has changed.

The 2013 15inch I upgraded from has the same relative screen dimensions as this new 16.

The 16 is a little bigger physically. They're pretty much the same screen size though.

For whatever reason, the 16 inch has 50% smaller text / ui — set on default.

I'm just surprised there's not more people complaining.
