Using iCloud, I have screen sharing set up between my home and office computers and that is working well. Although I have file sharing enabled in Settings, I don't know how to do it. The best thing would be a simple drag and drop between the remote screen and the client computer. Is this possible? Does anyone know of step by step directions on how to set it up?

I've been googling for the last hour and haven't gotten anywhere.

I am using iMacs, Lion and Airport Extreme routers, and I keep everything up to date.

Pretty sure you can't do it via Screen Sharing as you outline. In the old MobileMe days, you'd do it through iDisk - is that still an option for you?

If not - and just thinking aloud here - if you:

a. Initiate the Screen Sharing
b. from the Remote Screen, go to the Finder, and mount the disk of the machine you're on (logging in if necessary)
c. Once the machine you're on is visible in the Finder, can you drag and drop onto the appropriate icon via Screen Sharing?

Not tried it, but may be worth a go.

Thanks

ClaphamChris,

Thanks for the reply.

I never used MobileMe, but the references I've seen regarding Back to My Mac drag and drop (including on Apple's website) probably came from that past capability.

I've given up on Back to My Mac use through iCloud. I had been using LogMeIn, but Back to My Mac has better full screen support, so I was interested in switching. But Back to My Mac isn't available on iOS devices as LogMeIn is. I was trying to use both, Back to My Mac on my iMacs and LogMeIn on my iPhone and iPad, but they are incompatible when used simultaneously. So I'm back to using LogMeIn exclusively for now.
